The sea, incessant and persistent, comes closer and leaves, sometimes with strength and others, softly, over the rocks. These rocks face the plummeling firmly, strong and confident that it will be a long time before they become eroded completely. Am I maybe, one of those rocks? Does the sea, maybe, represent my illness? With your help, God will determine and be company to my fate.

I have had CML for two years, I have been constant with treatment and I consder that it is possible to live thanks to it. We have to fight without giving in, despite the temporary problems that may arise. This is my message.

What nature gives us is a gift for the soul, sight and all senses in general. Enjoy life to the maximum among simple things that nurture your soul.

A person sitting on a stool, hopeless and doomed. He is surrounded by a thorny fence, a sign of bad luck in Ethiopian culture. Suddenly there comes the sound of the Holy Sprit filling the heart of the hopeless person with bright hope and bright future.

Being a cancer survivor cannot limit a person from doing anything since there is a bright future in front of him because of Glivec. For a cancer survivor there is even a deep belief of being totally cured form the cancer.

Art Description:
This means to me like every person is a butterfly, but sometimes you are afraid to fly, with love and affection you may get wings to fly, you should not be afraid to live and enjoy life.

We should not be afraid to experiment in life, don´t be afraid to live, to feel, to cry, to love. Maximize your life while you are in earth.

When I was diagnosed, I began this quilt. It symbolises the very dark place I was in as can be seen by the colours and the intense stitching in the dark area and then rays of hope and peace radiating out from the dark corner.
