Our Guest Blogger today is Milagros, our MaxStation in the Philippines who works closely Touched by Max, the local patient support group for people living with CML and GIST.
Finally, after a long process of fulfilling all the requirements for the Department of Social Welfare & Development (DSWD), Touched by MAX, Inc. is now registered as a Social Welfare & Development Agency (SWDA), providing support services to the members diagnosed with CML and GIST.
On May 21, 2012, TBM received its Certificate of Registration represented by TBM Cebu Chapter President, Mr. Carlos Evangelista. The program ceremony was held at DSWD Central Office. The Certificate of Registration was awarded by the Department of Social Welfare & Development Secretary Corazon Juliano-Soliman, DSWD officers and NGO heads.
The benefits and privileges as a registered SWDA include but are not limited to, endorsement for duty-free entry of foreign donations, endorsement to conduct fundraising activities, participation in capacity building and skills enhancement, technical assistance on programs and services implementation, and inclusion in the registry of registered SWDAs.
This is another pride of Touched by Max (TBM)! We will have more challenges, opportunities and privileges as we expand our partners and networks. Way to go TBM!
