Thanksgiving is one of those holidays that go beyond a day off work and a lot of food. Thanksgiving in the United States brings with it a chance to stop the mad rush of our daily routine and tell our family and friends how much we appreciate having them in our lives.
As I look back at this year, I realize how incredibly lucky we are to be surrounded by a global community of the most amazing people one could have ever wished to meet. The work we do daily gives us the chance to meet many courageous families; the partnerships we form help us make a difference; and the awareness campaign wrapped it all up with a glorious month of advocacy and hope.
Our gratitude goes beyond this holiday, and today we are proud to say, “Thank you”. Thank you to our supporters for your trust in us. Today we renew our commitment to do our very best; to optimize the resources you entrust us with, and to serve our constituents with utmost dedication and professionalism.
Thank you to our partners; working with you has taught us the meaning of selflessness. We realize we can achieve the unachievable as long as we work together for a common cause.
Thank you to all physicians for your tireless dedication to your patients and you continuous support to our organization.
Thank you to every person who contributed to the awareness campaign this year. What an amazing adventure and what an honor to witness people’s courage to speak out, all around the world, at parks and schools, soccer matches and malls. The young and the old, everyone with one common goal: ensuring that every person diagnosed with cancer has access to treatment and support, no matter where they live.
Thank you to the caregivers, the silent heroes, for walking along side your loved one; for giving them strength in times of weakness; and for showing us the power of love.
Finally, thank you to each and every cancer survivor for reminding us of the meaning of courage. Watching you get up every morning and making the decision to maximize your lives, gives us strength. Thank you for your generosity. We are humbled by your constant shower of love. It is hard to distinguish sometimes, who supports whom. You are our rock and our inspiration and we gather strength from your energy.
Today and every day, may you be surrounded by friends and family, may their love give you peace, and may the future bring us together again.
