People from 97 countries around the world have signed the World Cancer Declaration through The Max Foundation’s tribute wall with a grand total of 20, 800 signatures and counting…! Each day more and more friends sign in support of this important declaration that will be presented to world leaders at the United Nations High Level Meeting about cancer control and other NCDs.
Following World Cancer Day when our delegation of global advocates delivered more than 11,000 signatures to UICC leaders in Geneva, several of the advocates returned home and did a big push for more signatures. As a result, countries that have excelled include: India, with several thousand signatures in the last few months, the Philippines with more than 6,000 signatures in recent weeks and Malaysia where the patient groups has steadily collected signatures to the World Cancer Declaration at events throughout the country.
Here is a list of countries that have brought in the most over all signatures through our tribute wall since the start of the campaign:
- Philippines: 9,119
- India: 3,681
- Mexico: 1,664
- United States: 1,195
- Malaysia: 1,126
- Venezuela: 1,010
It is not too late to sign the World Cancer Declaration, if you have not already done so.
