About the Campaign
In November of last year, we lost the sound of the piano that would fill the house, the celebrations during Duke basketball games, and corny jokes that would ellicit groans in our kitchen. Through his time as a journalist, editor, and father, our dad greeted everyone with kindness, never failing to make friends and conversation with whoever crossed his path.
In his final year, week, and even hour, he was aided by numerous oncologists, physicians, and nurses in his fight. Although his last days were brutal, he was able to spend them with us in the home he was comfortable in. We will forever cherish those final memories we were able to make with our dad.
Not every patient is given the chance to fight.
Not every family is given the opportunity to make final memories with their loved ones.
In honor of our dad, we wish to give patients across the world access to the cancer treatment that allowed him to live with hope.
